LETICIA SOLIMAR GUTIERREZ
artist, Creaciones x Solimar (she/ella)
Born and raised in occupied Chumash land to Mexican parents, Leticia has always kept her culture close and boldly expressed herself as an artist and community worker. From visual to performance arts, she has been trained in a variety of mediums, applying her knowledge to the world of community building.
Continuously inspired by the planet we come from, Solimar's artistic style is full of references to our hills, beaches, meadows, and the strength we pull from these places. She hopes her art is a reminder of the world we deserve and can build.
Creaciones x Solimar serves as a life-saving and therapeutic practice. She's grateful to the beads and wire, and hopes she is making her father proud.
ABOUT CREACIONES X SOLIMAR
Started in July 2023 to pass time, Solimar quickly found the twisting and turning of the wire to be very calming. More than eight collections later, Solimar continues to develop her craft as a jewelry artisan. Working with sterling silver and a carefully curated collection of beads and stones, each pair of earrings is uniquely hand-crafted with intention and love. Practicing cultural traditions by pouring protection into each pair of earrings created, her hope is for the pieces to Honor Existence.
